If you are thinking about starting an ecommerce business, for example selling childrens ski clothes online, there are a few things you need to consider first, such as:
- Warehousing. Even if you don’t require retail space for a brick-and-mortar store, you still need to warehouse all your merchandise somewhere, and putting it all in your garage is a rather lame way of doing it — not to mention unprofessional and unorganized. Besides, some merchandise, such as youth snowboard jackets, can be pretty bulky and may take up a lot of space.
- Shipping. Again, the bulkiness of items may change how you ship. Fitting youth snowboard gear into a box that isn’t oversized may be more of a challenge than you think. Make sure you figure out a system and charges for shipping ahead of time.
- Payment. Of course, you want to get paid — let’s not forget about that! There are a variety of payment options available for small businesses, but the most famous is PayPal. Still, the fees can add up, so check out your other options before committing to anything!
