The one thing I don’t have that I really want though is a GPS system. And with motorcycles you need one that is waterproof too. These things don’t come cheap though. I have been having trouble justifying the expense, and that’s why I had not already gotten one.

But I think I found a way to justify the expense. I’m not a pack rat, but when it comes to old or broken jewelry I never throw the stuff away. Well I rounded it all up and decided to sell the scrap gold to come up with the cash to buy a GPS. I went to an online pawn shop, filled out a form, and now I am just waiting for the kit that they are sending me so I can send them the jewelry. Then I’ll run off and buy that GPS I’ve been wanting.

There are two options for parents when it comes to teaching children how to swim. The first choice is to take them to a local pool or beach and to teach them yourself. There is a great ADT Tucson system I used to use and I don’t know if it will simply transfer to an ADT Phoenix company.   I actually don’t know where to start looking for a home security Phoenix system to match what I had at my old house down south so if anyone can lend me some information on home security systems I would really appreciate it. Also, the housing community I’m thinking of moving into is not a gated community, as far as I know it’s on a normal residential street next to main roads.  I have never lived in Tempe before, is it usually quite noisy to live by a busy road?  Is it any quieter in a gated community?  Thanks again for the tips! I’m looking forward to the move!

I recently had a chance to attend a party populated by high school friends. I hadn’t seen them in ten years and it sounded like a great chance to catch up on what everyone else has been doing in the decade that has passed since high school ended. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of those things that just sounded so much better in theory than it panned out in practice.

The thing is that I went to a college prep school where I always felt like every other student was smarter than me. It’s taken me almost ten years to feel confident in my own intelligence and being back with those students threw me right back into that old puddle of low self-esteem.

The very first conversation that I had was with someone who now works for a Tampa website development company. Five minutes into the conversation he was throwing around information about Florida email marketing strategy and Tampa SEO and social networking campaigns and Tampa online bookmarking and basically all of these other things that meant absolutely nothing to me.

After him came all of the lawyers and the doctors. Of course, they’re all married and planning to start families. Needless to say, this is not where I’m at in my life. I love my life. I’m happy. But I didn’t feel that way at the party and I don’t think that I’ll be returning to anything like that again soon.

You have probably heard that having a college degree can dramatically change your career prospects.  But before you blow this off as just being your parents talking or a “grown-up thing,” check out this article: College grads actually make significantly more than workers with just their high school diplomas.

Of course, as the article also points out, there is a lot of variance in the salaries people earn, regardless of whether they have a college degree or not.  My husband is currently working on his bachelor’s degree while working full time, but his job of ten years pays him more than my dad ever got as an engineer with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree.  And then you have examples like my aunt, who is highly educated yet has struggled to find a job that will pay her bills for the last 30 years.

Yet on the whole getting a college degree really does make a difference.  Many employers for professional jobs simply want to see that you have a college degree, whether or not it is related to the position.  Perhaps they assume that college imparts some professional skills regardless of the subject of your major; or perhaps it’s simply that they want to see you are interested in improving your mind.

Whatever the reason, getting a college education definitely improves your career prospects, both in the types of jobs you can get and in the income levels you can achieve.  Unfortunately, going to college is easier said than done.  College tuition rates are going up ridiculously fast, making it harder than ever to afford an education.  Even so, I think the advantages you’ll enjoy for the rest of your life are well worth scrimping and saving for college now, don’t you?

I have always loved geography and travel.  In fact I can draw the map of the world without looking at any source and I can name all country capitals from memory.

I will be graduating from high school this year and I have been looking at various bachelor degree programs online.  I want to take up a degree than deals with peoples and places.

I think an online humanities degree program suits me because not only do I love different places but I also love the arts and politics.

On top of my list of potential courses is sociology.  Sociology deals with studying how people behave in society.  I can foresee a future where I being a sociologist will do my research on different cultures in different countries.

I will also have an opportunity to travel to different places to deliver academic studies and findings.

I found a school that offers online college degree and I guess I am taking my courses there because I like the flexible schedule. The internet will help me do my research and while I am doing my studies, I can manage my time so I can do a part time job.

It would really be great to blend my passion for geography while studying people from different countries.

Pregnant at sixteen, she dropped out of school and started working at a fast food restaurant after the child’s father ran out on her.  The years passed and though she worked hard and obtained a management position at her place of employment, she wanted more.
