Make Altered Art with Classroom Supplies
Altered art refers to the craft of taking items that are already in existence and changing them to create a piece of art. There are no boundaries to this kind of art (although there are some general guidelines that many altered artists follow). There is just the right to follow your own imagination in re-using and re-purposing the things in your life.
One of the things that you may find is really easy to take from its original use and turn into art is classroom supplies. Whether you are a student with supplies left over at the end of the semester or a teacher with teacher supplies that are out of date, you probably have things that can be used to make altered art.
Old textbooks are particularly good for creating really cool altered books. You may add to these books using other classroom supplies including paper (which you can turn into confetti using your school hole puncher), bits of crayons and chalk and really anything else that you can think of. The point is to take what you already have and play with it to create something even better! And what’s better than re-purposing things that are likely just going to be tossed out anyway?
