What to Expect from Florida Rehab
People who enter a Florida drug rehab program for the first time are often terrified. That’s because they don’t know what to expect from a Florida drug treatment center.
If you find yourself in that position, here are a few of the things that you can probably expect:
- Individual and group therapy. Therapy is a key part of rehab because it’s how you figure out what the underlying problem is that is causing your addiction. Doing this is the only real way to beat addiction. Most programs offer both individual and group therapy sessions so that you get the most out of your therapy work. Later in the treatment, your family may also be asked to come in for family therapy.
- Education and step-work. You will probably learn a lot about what addiction is and you will most likely be taught something about the twelve-step program that is most frequently used to combat addiction. This education can be really helpful in allowing you to understand the disease that you’re dealing with.
- Medication. In some cases, addicts may require medication either to assist them with detoxing during rehab or to help them deal with mental health issues that complicate their addictions.
Knowing what to expect isn’t going to make that first trip to rehab a lot less frightening but at least you’ll be able to tell yourself what’s going to happen when you get there.

But if you are struggling with an alcohol or drug addiction, all that matters is in serious jeopardy. It doesn’t have to be this way. People do change, life can get better.
