My Cooking Show
I work at a kitchen gadget store. It’s not one of those big chain stores that you find in the mall, but a sole proprietorship in the revitalized downtown business district. The owner is a really down to earth lady who will go out of her way to make sure that she takes care of me and the other couple of people that work there.
Obviously I’m probably into cooking. After all, I do work at a kitchen gadget store! And it has always been my dream to host a show on the food network. Earlier this year they had an opportunity where people could mail in audition tapes, and I did. I worked with a friend and we put together a very well done DVD of me making turkey lasagna. We did it in a way reminiscent of Alton Brown’s show: Good Eats. We even used a DVD labeler or disk printer thing to make it look more professional.
Well I didn’t make it onto the show, but word of this DVD started circulating around our regular customers. So we got the CD printer back out and made a dozen more which I sold at the store for $10 each. They sold so fast that I just whipped up twelve more today!
